Privacy Policy
Effective 9 September 2026 · Applies to the SameBeat mobile app and related servers.
SameBeat lets people listen to music together in rooms, circles, and chats. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it maps to Google Play Data safety. Using the app means you agree to this policy.
1. Data we collect
Account
Display name, mobile number, and a login token so you can use the app on your device.
Device
Device name and a Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can send push notifications you opted into.
Social & rooms
Rooms you host or join, circle memberships, friend links, join requests, and in-room chat messages.
App activity
Listening time in a room, current room, play/pause position for the host clock, and song requests you send.
We do not ask for your Google password, payment card, precise GPS, contacts list, or microphone recording for this service.
2. Google Play Data safety summary
When you complete Play Console Data safety, you can align with this list:
Personal info
Name, phone number — collected for the app. Visible to people in rooms or circles you join.
Device or other IDs
FCM push token and device name — used for notifications. Shared with Google Firebase to deliver pushes.
Messages
Room chat and song requests — visible to other members of that room.
App activity
Rooms, listening status, playback sync — visible to listeners in the same room.
Audio / photos / files
We stream YouTube videos. We do not upload your camera roll.
Location
Precise or approximate GPS is not collected by our server.
Financial info
Purchases and cards are not collected.
Data is used for app functionality, account management, and communications (push). We do not sell your personal information.
3. How we use data
- Create and sign you into your SameBeat account.
- Show rooms, circles, friends, and who is listening.
- Keep playback in sync for people in the same room (host position).
- Send push notifications such as being added to a circle.
- Operate, secure, and debug the service, including spam and abuse.
4. Who we share with
- Other users you interact with (name, room activity, chat in that room).
- Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging) to deliver push notifications.
- YouTube / Google when the app plays or looks up videos.
- Hosting of our API and database so the app can function.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect users and the service from fraud or harm.
5. YouTube and music content
SameBeat plays music by embedding or opening YouTube videos. We do not claim ownership of those videos. Your use of YouTube in the app is also governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
Do not use SameBeat to infringe copyright. Rights holders may request removal of links we store in the song catalog.
6. Notifications
If you grant notification permission, we store an FCM token and may send messages about circles, rooms, or service notices. You can turn off notifications in system settings.
7. Children
SameBeat is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights and choices
- Update your display name and device token through the app.
- Leave rooms and circles to stop sharing that activity with those groups.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your account data by emailing privacy@refbite.com.
- Uninstalling the app stops new data from that device; server-side account data remains until you ask us to delete it.
9. Security and retention
We use token authentication for the API and restrict staff console access. We keep account and room data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, then delete or anonymize it when no longer required.

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
